OPPORTUNITY

The Director of Quality and Compliance audits and implements a program for continuous monitoring of patient care practices and outcomes in a consistent effort to maintain and improve the services and environment provided and assures compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and state regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the tracking and reporting of all required quarterly and annual reporting to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), State Administering Agency (SAA) and PACE team and the monitoring of all interventions to comply with regulations.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and impact analysis as needed or as requested by CMS or SAA.
  • Audits charts and care to ensure compliance with CMS and SAA regulations and ensures documentation is accurate and complete and reflects care authorized in the care plan.
  • Audits organization to prepare for surveys and to ensure compliance with CMS, SAA, Joint Commission, and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Audits participants and families to ensure care/services are delighting the customer.
  • Identifies areas of concern or needed improvement to maximize participant satisfaction and/or positive health outcomes; may include creating new protocols and/or policies. Creates action plans to remedy deficiencies or to improve service/care.
  • Researches grievances/incidents and acts as liaison to the participant/family involved.
  • Submits to Executive Director capital and department budgets and operates within approved.
  • Maintains up-to-date and appropriate documentation in the participant’s electronic medical record.
  • Participates in New Horizons Living quality improvement activities.
  • Participates in the interdisciplinary team meetings, communicating participant changes, collaborating on care planning decisions and coordination of 24-hour care delivery.
  • Participates in in-service training and staff meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in business administration and/or health and human services or related field is required.
  • (2) years of demonstrated experience in quality assurance and/or compliance in health-related field.
  • (1) year supervisory experience in a health-related field.
  • Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations, before having direct participant contact.

Desired

  • (5) years’ experience in Quality and/or Compliance in the health-related field.
  • (1) year working with the elderly population.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certificate or the ability to obtain within two weeks of hire, before having direct participant contact.
