    We are seeking a Fill Technician. Under the supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist the Pharmacy Fill Technician I prepares, counts, labels, packages, and dispenses pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist’s approval . Also assumes responsibilities involving receiving, preparing, and putting away inventory deliveries.

     

    Full Time M-F 10:00am-6:30pm with weekend rotation every thire week Sat & Sun 7:00am-3:30 pm

    Responsibilities

    Essential Tasks:

     

    • Under Pharmacist’s supervision prepares, processes and packages prescriptions using Parata PassWare, Pass 500, STS and Check Pass.
    • Manages the drug inventory requirements for all packagers
    • Exports batches from Frameworks for processing
    • Under Pharmacists supervision, fill prescription orders for facilities not dispensed in automated packaging machines: choosing proper medications based on drug name and NDC.
    • Note on each prescription: lot, expiration date on card and I.D. stamp on label.
    • Prepares packages and affixes proper auxiliary labels specifying medication pass time, medication specific information and/or monitoring, and re-order parameters.
    • Assist in reordering or notify the appropriate personnel of medication and/or supply needs through proper use of reorder log. Also monitors back-order requests.
    • Assist in coordination with the Purchasing Technician that the inventory stock levels of drug items or legend ancillary equipment are  appropriately maintained.
    • Checks for overages, shortages, damaged materials of the daily drug deliveries and follows procedures for documentation, calling in, and resolving.
    • Prepare simple drug compounds under the Pharmacist’s supervision.
    • Responsible for filling bulk products, blister packs and putting away the daily drug order.
    • Stages deliveries using the Frameworks Delivery Dashboard to assure that all meds have been scanned and delivered.
    • Manage multiple delivery systems
    • Manage multiple delivery times each day
    • Manage multiple order cut off times each day
    • Perform expiration dating review of all medications on a scheduled basis and properly store outdated medications in designated areas.
    • Replace emergency boxes as requested. Replaces medications in emergency boxes. Checks all emergency box medications for expiration date before sealing the box.
    • Maintain all related compounding records, delivery receipts, and any other related files as determined by pharmacy management.
    • Remove and sort by work function the delivery totes and equipment from return area inside pharmacy. Ensure proper dispensation of returned medication items for proper outlet, i.e. destruction vs. credit
    • Assure that creditable meds are returned to stock promptly; including bulk, tabs/caps and strip packaged meds.
    • Perform technician assignments for the day or by special assignment as requested by pharmacy management.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of the specific pharmacy area/functions.
    • Maintain neat, clean and organized work place at all times to avoid contamination.
    • Perform pharmacy cleaning duties daily and document on Fill Technician cleaning
    • Checklist or IV Room cleaning checklist as applicable.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • One (1) year previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.
    • Previous pharmacy or a health care setting experience preferred.
    • Ability and willingness to successfully complete a pharmacy technician certification program within (1) year of practical experience.
