We are seeking a Director of Nursing to manage and direct all aspects of care on the Long Term Care Units. 


  • Ensures that all Clinical Programs are in place and meet company standards (i.e., CQI, psychotropic restraint, wound, pain, falls, etc.)
  • Provides day to day education to other health care providers, the center’s care team, and the resident/family on the Long Term Care units.
  • Directs, evaluates and supervises all Long Term Resident Care on the Long Term Unit and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Assesses and monitors resident responses to medication and treatments and makes appropriate recommendations for nursing action to be implemented.
  • Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team, as well as works cooperatively with residents, staff, volunteers, and families, to provide quality care to all Long Term Care Residents.
  • Ensures quality customer service to the Residents, families, staff and all external customers the department serves.
  • Advocates on behalf of the resident and center for needed resident resources and services.
  • Assumes responsibility for department compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations.
  • Collaborates in recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and discipline of nursing staff under the supervision of the Administrator of Clinical Services.
  • Orients new employees to their duties on their specific unit, according to corporate guidelines, such as ADL documentation, pharmacy procedures, physical assessment and customer services.
  • Supervises the scheduling of employees within established guidelines for allocation of personnel on duty.
  • Participates in developing, planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training classes to help insure a well-educated staff.
  • Organizes and maintains all records necessary, following corporate policies and procedures.
  • Operates department within the established budget guidelines.
  • Advise and consult daily with the Administrator of Clinical Services on nursing and Resident care issues.
  • Responsible to ensure Restorative Programs are in place and consistency being followed by direct care CNAs.
  • Demonstrates consistent management or nursing service problems and emergency situations.




  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrator of Clinical Services.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
  • Demonstrates consistent management of nursing service problems and emergency situations.
  • Attends and participates in continuing education programs designed to keep abreast of changes in the profession.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all protected health information whether electronic, written, or oral exposed to either during the course of assigned duties or as a result of an incidental disclosure.
  • Serves as an active member of all committees as needed in the corporation.
  • Apply the Necessary Standard in all matters related to Residents’ protected health information.


  • Graduate from certified school of nursing.
  • Current license with the state as a Registered Nurse in good standing required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing supervision position required.
  • Knowledge of survey process required.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office experience preferred.
  • Able to follow and give written and oral directions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, resident, families, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Display leadership qualities, good communication skills, and a desire to continuously learn.
  • Pass background check before and during employment, as defined by Christian Horizons’ background check policy, with no disqualifications by committing or attempting to commit one or more of the offenses defined within.
